Credentialing Supervisor

The healthcare field continues to rapidly advance, and become more complex and interconnected. The Credentialing Supervisor is responsible for strategically, systematically and efficiently overseeing our growing Credentialing Department. He/She is responsible for promoting a results-oriented environment and providing clients with timely, expert service.


  • Ensure credentialing process remains current, accurate and timely.

  • Ensure good communication with Clients and throughout Company (internally with Billing, Compliance, Etc.) 

  • Oversee onboarding process of new clients, collaborate with clients to attain all necessary information to complete enrollment.

  • Oversee & communicate with Credentialing Coordinator regarding deadlines & support the Credentialing service operations.  Responsible for providing guidance as necessary.

  • Provides leadership for process improvement and redesign to improve client satisfaction, reduce costs and/or meet departmental and Company goals and objectives. 

  • Continuously review fee schedule

  • Manage credentialing and recredentialing process to meet and exceed service requirements.

  • Lead all credentialing matters and serve as a resource to all clients.

  • Work continuously to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally.

  • Build the credentialing department to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and allow for immediate client additions

  • Provide timely first level resolution to issues and/or questions relating to the credentialing process.

  • Identify and analyze problems and issues related to provider setup

  • Keep current with rules, regulations, policies, procedures related to the credentialing/recredentialing and sanctions.

  • Maintenance of credentialing database and resources.

  • Respects and protects the confidentiality of all patient, client and Company information.

  • Assumes other responsibilities as requested.


Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements

  • Associate’s (2 year) Degree.

  • 3-5 years’ supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of CAQH.

  • Exceptional communication skills to report progress and procure provider information.

  • Possess the qualities of a leader along with the ability to mentor, coach and motivate staff.

  • Apply a high degree of analytical skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Requires intermediate Excel skills

  • Possess a working knowledge of carrier credentialing guidelines & requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree and/or professional certification

  • Specialized training: Credentialing Certification (CPCS, CPMSM)
